lupinus nootkatensis are common on the west coast . Certain species of lupines are toxic so if you have the toxic ones in your livestock hay you may want to check which subspecies is growing all over your livestock fields you harvested from stuck in your haybail too. l sericeus silky lupine and silver lupine l.argenteus have toxins that could cause deformities in calves or lambs. The blue flowers are pretty along with the scarlet paintbrush ,ive seen some in cattle country big grassy fields near Merrit bc in early June
